About the Company

Brilliant Bulbs is a full-service, all-inclusive holiday light and decor installation company. We offer services for both residential and commercial applications.  We have been testing, building, and installing custom high-quality holiday light and decor systems for over a decade. 

Our Offerings: We offer a wide range of holiday lights and decor for all holidays and applications.  From the classic static multi-color C-9 string lighting to greenery (wreaths/garland/trees) to a custom programmed light sequences that are synched to music and transmitted to FM radios, Brilliant Bulbs can design, build, install, maintain, remove, and store a holiday light and decor system that meets your exact needs.

Innovation: After growing frustrated with the lack of options in the LED holiday light space, Brilliant Bulbs sourced a specialty C-9 LED bulb directly from the manufacturer and built a Brilliant Bulbs Smart Control Hub that maximizes the optionality of the C-9 LED bulb and allows our clients to customize to their preferences.

Alex Malotte

THE OWNER AND OPERATOR OF BRILLIANT BULBS, HAS BEEN DESIGNING AND INSTALLING CUSTOM LIGHT SYSTEMS FOR OVER A DECADE.

Alex is a native of Southern California and grew up in a large family full of holiday cheer. From a young age, he was fascinated with the individual components of his holiday decorations, especially the lighting systems. He would spend hours taking apart, repairing, and rebuilding the classic C-9 Christmas lights his parents put on their roof each year.

After college, he left Los Angeles for Baltimore, MD to support his wife while she attended graduate school. Brilliant Bulbs was born there, as he began building custom light systems for Baltimore’s famous Row Houses. After earning his Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, Alex and his wife moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to continue his wife’s schooling.

A few years ago, Alex moved back to Los Angeles to work for The Walt Disney Company and be closer to family.  After leaving Disney (and adding a few kids to the family), Alex decided to go into business for himself once again.  He is relieved to be back in sunny Southern California and is excited to bring his professional expertise, high-quality products, and world-class service to the region that raised him.
